It has been more than a year now since NGK commenced. When the first look was released on May 2018, the production house had officially announced that the film will be a Diwali 2018 release. But, just a month before Diwali 2018, the production house officially announced that the film will not make it for Diwali 2018. The reason was that some portions of the shoot had to be postponed, as the director, Selvaraghavan, underwent an surgery during that period.
After a long wait, now, the team has officially announced that the shoot has been wrapped up. The film now steps into its post-production stage, aiming for a Tamil new year 2019 release.
It is to be noted that writer/director Selvaraghavan is an ardent fan of the versatile star, Suriya. This evening, Selvaraghavan tweeted:
It has been a fantastic journey filming with the one and only @Suriya_offl sir. Truly amazed by his wonderful talent and dedication! We, team #NGK, take this moment to thank him from the bottom of our hearts!#NGKFire @prabhu_sr @thisisysr
